Public HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting Training Course at the BALLARAT SOUTH COMMUNITY HUB, Tuppen Drive, Sebastopol Victoria 3356 starting at 8:30am to 4:30pm (8hrs) on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency will contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulation (2011).
This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis”. The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) oversees the implementation of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and works with the state and territory regulatory authorities to implement and administer the NQF.

Note: There’s a minimum of 4 students required in order for the training day to proceed, with a total maximum of 24 students per training day. If a training day needs to be cancelled, an alternate training date will be offered or a refund given.
While this course contains some information about anaphylaxis it does not meet the Victoria State Government Education and Training Departmental guidelines and requirements of Ministerial Order 706 (MO706). Primary and Secondary School staff (as determined by the principal) will need to also attend 22300VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis. This training can be provided by Emergency Medical Response inconjunction with either HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, HLTAID003 Provide First Aid or HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting training.
